When it comes to social media strategy, brands like Oreo can create 100 brilliant Facebook posts 100 days in a row (to celebrate its 100th birthday, of course), while other advertisers completely flounder.
So Facebook decided to call out the brands that are doing the best work on the medium — mostly using unpaid advertising — by announcing the winners of its second annual Facebook Studio awards.
An elite group of advertising experts from all the top agencies made up the jury that analyzed which brands deserve the prize, which is actually a simple wooden box with the letter “f” carved on it.

If you’re the admin of a Facebook page you spend a lot of time cultivating your FB marketing. Despite Facebook’s ongoing evolution, it’s possible to have an engaged following as part of your larger digital marketing strategy. Regularly posting relevant, interesting content, Interacting with your Facebook audience is part of Facebook community management. Though you can’t expect each Facebook post to spark comments, you can learn as to what prompts Facebook users to interact with page content.
With the PC officially in decline, mobile is clearly now the platform of choice for most digital services, including commerce, music, entertainment, banking, and communication. But advertisers and marketers have failed to keep up with consumers and continue to spend heavily in traditional media such as television and PC web media such as search or display.

It’s easy to spot the really bad web content. After all, it’s usually stuffed with so many keywords and written with such glaring grammatical mistakes that it looks like some kind of Martian language (my apologies to all of the Martians who may be reading this!).

Custom content spending on production and distribution rose to 43.9 billion, the second highest amount to be recorded. All forms—print, electronic and other—experienced growth; a 9.2% rise over last year’s 40.2 billion, with print still claiming the lion’s share of dollars spent in content marketing. Of the average overall marketing, advertising and communications budget, 39% of the funds were dedicated to content marketing.
Released just prior to the industry’s largest event in Chicago next week, the “Characteristics Study: A Look at the Volume and Type of Content Marketing in America for 2013,” is the 13th annual industry report by the Custom Content Council and ContentWise, comparing usage of content marketing among different formats from 1999-2012, including print, web, email, video, virtual events, white papers, podcasts and e-Zines.
